Description
At 4,300 words, this is only a short story – just a piece of fun to capture a genre I hadn’t used before. The girls love the story because it features their own dogs, Hercules and Charlie. [Here, Hercules is given his Belgian diminutive name, Hercule.] There are some great Film Noir characters here including Mrs Dolores d’Mastercard and Mavis, the volatile Chinese maid. The setting in Ascot and Fortitude Valley is only a little over written.
