Description
The front page of this story indicates that this is fourth of the pirate stories in the series; even though it was the fourth written, it probably works better as the third story.
I loved writing this story. I particularly loved the characters and the little, lapidary moments in this story: the girls in the kitchen of the Sea Princess , the service in the cathedral, the cooking competition, the ball and the reconciliation at the end.
When I have read this to children, they are always excited by the way justice works in the story. The theme of redemption is very strong here.
